What are the logo trends in 2017

Kroker's Look @ IT

The current trends in logo design such as minimalism, flatness or two-tone design can also be seen in well-known redesigns.

The last time I reported on the topic of company logos in the blog at the beginning of June - with a view to the current design trends of 2017: This year this includes the topics of "minimalism" and "vintage".

The American provider of a logo design app LogoMaker recently approached the same topic from a different perspective: using striking examples of logo redesigns.

Like the Facebook subsidiary Instagram: The popular photo app completely overturned its popular logo, a Polaroid camera with a retro look, about a year ago. Instead, today's pink logo only hints at the camera, keyword negative design - and "flat" as well as with geometric shapes, as currently popular, it is too.

Also in mid-2016, the popular video streaming service Netflix gave itself a new logo, at least almost: Because the revised "N" lettering is intended to complement the previous logo, especially in the social networks Facebook and Twitter. The design trends here are simple lines ("Monoline") and two-tone ("Duotone").

The other design trends, including clear, bold fonts and "negative free spaces" (see also my blog post about hidden logo messages from 2015), in the following infographic:
