Drones in the test - Stiftung Warentest sees the DJI Mavic Mini ahead

Drones in the test - Stiftung Warentest sees the DJI Mavic Mini ahead - The Mavic Mini lives up to its name and is not only small, but also weighs 249 grams, which is not only easy to transport, but also so light that the drone is not yet subject to mandatory labeling. The Stiftung Warentest has currently looked at the model and comes to a very positive conclusion in the test of the drone. The models are particularly suitable for beginners and offer a good price-performance ratio. After all, the drone currently only costs around 400 euros - that's a really cheap price for a DJI device.

The Stiftung Warentest writes as a conclusion:

The DJI Mavic Mini is absolutely suitable for beginners due to its stable flight characteristics and precise control. In particular, considering its price of around 400 euros, it offers good image and video quality and a decent selection of automatic functions. Even more ambitious drone pilots can have fun with the Mavic Mini when they fly it in agile sport mode.

There were, however, deductions for the camera. The Mavic-Mini only offers videos in 2.7K quality and with photos the camera had problems with overexposure, so that some of the pictures were too bright or had too bright spots. The coming home function was also rated positively because it worked reliably - pilots often experience it differently, especially in difficult terrain, this function definitely leads to the devices landing in trees.

The last test of drones at Stiftung Warentest was from 2017. In the meantime, the market has developed significantly and there are many new models and new technologies on the market. Therefore, the results from back then are hardly meaningful and therefore it is very nice to see that drones still play a role at Stiftung Warentest.
