How much does a Ferrari F40 cost

Record price: Ferrari F40 moves up to the millionaires club

An expensive collector's item: a car enthusiast bought a Ferrari F40 for over one million euros. There are only around 1,300 examples of the luxury Italian super sports car worldwide.

The Ferrari F40 is considered the first real super sports car from the Italian sports car manufacturer. The flounder was built from 1987 to 1992. It was the last project that Enzo Ferrari personally initiated. The bolide is now a sought-after collector's item. An auction by the Coys auction house as part of the Oldtimer Grand Prix at the Nürburgring has now revealed how coveted the model is: a car enthusiast now paid a whopping 1.12 million euros for the legend on wheels (year of construction: 1992).

478 hp and a top speed of 324 km / h

The record-breaking price is also due to the fact that the Ferrari F40 only had one previous owner - and at the time of the auction it was just 7,881 kilometers on the clock. The specimen presented itself in good shape at the Nürburgring.

The Ferrari F40 rolled off the production line with a 2.9-liter V8 turbo that produced 478 hp and accelerated the noble speedster to 100 km / h in around four seconds. Ferrari stated the top speed at that time at 324 km / h. In Germany, selected customers had to put around 444,000 DM on the table for the Italian, which corresponds to around 380,000 euros today. © 1 & 1 Mail & Media / ContentFleet
