The best vacation destinations for your Brazil vacation

Brazil is nature, Brazil is culture & sightseeing and of course Brazil is also a beach. So that you get an overview, here are the most important Brazilian vacation spots.

Seaside resorts

Paraty
Paraty (or Parati) is located exactly between Rio de Janeiro and São Paulo and is one of the most popular vacation spots for Brazilians and tourists from all over the world. In addition to dream beaches and idyllic islands, the city itself is a real gem. The center of Paratys dates back to colonial times and consists of elegant white houses. The airports of Rio and São Paulo are only 3 hours away. Perfect for a few relaxing days on the beach.

Florianopolis
Florianópolis (called Floripa) is the capital of the Brazilian state of Santa Catarina. Part of the city is on the mainland, the other on the island of Ilha de Santa Catarina. In addition to beautiful beaches, you will also find fascinating nature here. The climate in southern Brazil is less strenuous and the region is one of the safest in the country.

Buzios
Armação dos Búzios, Búzios for short, is located just 175 km east of Rio de Janeiro. The small town sits on a protruding peninsula and is one of the liveliest vacation spots in all of Brazil. The former fishing village of Brigitte Bardot made it famous. Today Búzios is considered the Brazilian St. Tropez.

Fernando de Noronha
The Fernando de Noronha archipelago is 350 kilometers off the northeast coast of Brazil. Anyone who has ever visited the offshore island with its crystal clear water, the breathtaking underwater world and the unique tropical landscape will not want to leave this paradise again anytime soon. Since the flights are limited, it never gets too crowded even in the main season.

Ilhabela
Ilhabela, the "beautiful island", is located in the Brazilian state of São Paulo. The island is of volcanic origin and a true natural paradise. Countless animal and plant species live here. 85% of the island is a nature reserve. In addition to guided island tours, you can also go diving and surfing on Ilhabela.

Jericoacoara
In the extreme northeast of Brazil, in Ceará, lies the popular holiday resort Jericoacoara. Surrounded by shifting dunes, some meters high, you can practice all imaginable water sports or just laze on one of the wonderful sandy beaches. There is still some of the hippie flair in the air that made Jericoacoara famous.

Culture & sightseeing

Olinda
"Oh, how beautiful," is what Olinda means, and that's actually all you have to say about this small former colonial town in the state of Pernambuco. Olinda is one of the oldest cities in Brazil and shines with baroque architecture. It has been a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 1982, and rightly so.

Salvador
Salvador de Bahia is the most popular place in northeast Brazil. The former capital of the country is a party metropolis and a melting pot of cultures. If you're interested in Capoeira, you've come to the right place. The old town of Salvador, called "Pelourinho", is also well worth seeing. The Carnival in Salvador is one of the largest in Brazil.

Ouro Preto
The small town in Minas Gerais is one of the top 3 most visited tourist destinations in all of Brazil. At almost 1,200 m above sea level, in the narrow, winding streets of Ouro Pretos, you can be transported back in time, when the gold rush put the whole region in a spirit of optimism.

Nature & Adventure

Pantanal
The Pantanal is a huge wetland in the Midwest of Brazil, more precisely in the states of Mato Grosso and Mato Grosso do Sul. In the numerous rivers, lakes and forests you can marvel at a breathtakingly diverse flora and fauna. An absolute must for all nature lovers.

Amazon basin
The Amazon is the largest river in the world and its huge dimensions alone are an unforgettable experience. Be it a river trip or an expedition into the tropical rainforest. A visit to the Amazon basin will be remembered forever.

Foz do Iguaçu
Foz do Iguaçu is located on the border with Argentina and Uruguay, right at the mouth of the Iguaçu River in Paraná. From here it is only 25 kilometers to the world-famous Iguazú waterfalls. This impressive natural spectacle should not be missing on any vacation in Brazil.

The most beautiful metropolises

Rio de Janeiro
Hardly any other city in the world embodies this longing for a carefree life like Rio de Janeiro. Copacabana and Sugar Loaf are just two highlights that every traveler will rave about. And with the 2014 World Cup and the 2016 Olympic Games, Rio was able to continue working on its myth.

São Paulo
São Paulo is often overshadowed by Rio because it does not embody lightness, but rather the cool, economic heart of Brazil. But São Paulo is much more than that. The cultural scene is one of the most important in all of South America and the gastronomy is unparalleled in Brazil.
